Introduction
The Liki Trike is a compact, foldable tricycle for toddlers that has 5 different stages to grow alongside your little one. The self-proclaimed “World’s Most Compact Folding Trike” is perfect for girls or boys with an adventurous side, need for speed, or just love the outdoors.
Some children do not feel safe outdoors, or have problems socializing at first. In the Doona Liki Trike, your child has a safe environment where they can feel grounded. With easy to grip handlebars and safety straps to keep feet secure, your child can rock and roll without feeling like they are going to fall off.
Because the Doona Liki Trike looks like and acts like a bicycle, your child will feel more in control of their surroundings, and are less likely to fuss and scream! Unlike a traditional stroller, your child will be sitting upright and will be able to see everything going on in front of them – and love it!

Doona Liki Trike Modes
Parent Mode: 10 – 18 Months
Lock in and ride safely with total control through the steering bar. In Parent Mode, your kiddo has a backrest, footrest, and most importantly a protective bar around them, shoulder straps, and a canopy to stay in the shade.
Push Mode: 18 – 24 Months
Take off the canopy and protective bar, but keep the footrests locked in place with Push Mode. Your toddler will still be strapped in securely, but can now see more around them and feel a little bit more freedom.
Tricycle Mode: 24 – 30 Months
If desired, when you reach Tricycle Mode, the footrests can be removed and pedals unlocked. This mode will help your child start learning better motor skills and how to use their legs to move themselves forward.
Bike Mode: 30 – 36 Months
A full stand-alone tricycle, Bike Mode takes off the backrest and parental steering bar to give your toddler total freedom.
Folded Mode
No matter what other mode your Doona Liki Trike is in, it can always fully fold with a click of a button when traveling, or when you quickly need to transport your tricycle.
Doona Liki Trike Review Update
Our family recently completed a trip to Zion National Park, and we decided to take the Doona Liki Trike out as an ultimate test. Despite encountering many different riding surfaces – from paved roads to dirt, gravel, sand, and rocks – the Doona Trike dominated every surface and we never had any issues.
Besides the Doona getting incredibly dirty underneath the muddy waterfalls, the wheels and steering held up well and got tons of compliments along the way.

The shade cover definitely helped in the 90 degree weather, and we used the attached bag to carry extra water bottles and snacks. Even on sandy dirt roads, it was easy to steer and navigate the Doona.

Doona Liki Trike Design & Style
The Liki Trike is definitely one of the coolest looking tricycles on the market right now. Comparing it to other brands like Joovy or Radio Flyer, the Liki Trike is more modern and has an almost luxurious look to it. It definitely looks like it should cost more than $300, and the fact that it can be used for over 2 years by your little one means that over time, the value for money is great. If you divide the $300 invested over 24 months, you’re essentially paying $12.50 / mo for hours of fun and outdoor time every week with your special one.
The Liki Trike features a low profile and sleek frame that fits a toddler well. It’s simple to get loaded up and head out, easily making it out the door for a walk in less than 5 minutes – and that includes getting shoes put on!
The included storage bag is a good size and comes in handy on longer walks. We’ve kept two sweaters, a hydroflask, water bottle, and some tennis balls for our Mini Golden Retriever safe and secure in the provided storage bag with zero problems.
When it comes to style, nothing beats the Liki Trike line-up. Our toddler receives comments every time we ride around the neighborhood from envious parents and kids alike.
In total there are only two colors available for the Like Trike S5 – Deluxe, which is available in Green and Black and comes with a premium storage bag, travel bag, and wooden handlebars. The standard Liki Trike S3 comes in Red, Gray, and Blue. The special Liki Trike Midnight edition is all black and comes with additional features such as faux-leather handlebars and black aluminum profiles.
Doona Liki Trike Materials
The standard Like Trike line is mostly made of plastic, but is extremely durable and has held up well over several months of weekly use. Despite being made of plastic, for our extended Liki Trike review, we took the Trike on concrete, paved, and dirt roads and we never experienced any jams. The wheels do get “beat-up” over time, but they do not function any differently than they did out of the box. We also trekked through sand and over grass fields without any issues.
For the Liki Trike, Doona provides a 1-year warranty against manufacturing or material defects as well in case you have any problems with the construction or build quality of your tricycle.
Doona Liki Trike Performance
Over the last 3 months, the Doona Liki Trike has held up incredibly well on all types of terrains and surfaces. We primarily walk around the neighborhood on a mixture of sidewalks and paved streets, but also veer off onto dirt trailers and gravel. The Liki Trike wheels handle most surfaces with ease, and with the unique wheel design, you don’t have to worry about getting a flat or rocks getting stuck and jamming the wheels.
Since our son LOVES exploring our on the fields in our sports park, we tried walking and jogging with the Trike in the grass. The wheels held up well, and no dirt or grass leaves got stuck or caused jams.
You can pick up a lot of speed and run with the Liki Trike as well, although it does become more difficult to steer using the parent steering bar when you go faster. When cruising at a normal walking speed, it is a breeze to handle and push, even when going uphill.
Doona Liki Trike Durability
We have taken the Doona Liki Trike out on daily rides for several months now, and the Trike still works great. The velcro foot latches on the footsteps are extremely durable and secure. They are easy to adjust for different footwear, and have helped keep our Baby J’s wild and crazy feet in place without any issues.
Downsides of the Doona Liki Trike
The only downside of the Doona Liki Trike we found is that due to the design of the wheels not being round but somewhat squared-off at the edges, the bike likes to slowly drift either to the left or right. Since we do “extreme” riding out in the neighborhood as our son likes to swerve from left to right, the handlebar has become somewhat looser over time, but it has not impacted being able to control the direction of the Trike.
We expected this, as we do a lot of jogging and turning with our Trike along different running paths. As time went on, it became easier to steer and control the Trike, and jogging with one hand on the handlebar and the other holding a dog leash or water bottle has become second nature.
Doona Liki Trike Included Add-Ons
The Doona Liki Trike comes with a clip-on cup-holder that fits most standard sized water bottles, sippy-cups, or children’s water bottles. Larger size containers like Hydro flask’s may have difficulty fitting inside, but this should not be a problem as the holder is designed for your child. With such easy access, you may find your child holding their cup as you are out for a ride and letting go of the handle bars!
There is also an included storage bag that fits quite a bit. We normally have our dog’s toys, two water bottles, snacks, and at least one sweatshirt inside the bag without any issues. The only downside of filling up the bag too much is that it does add extra weight to the Trike, making longer trips a bit more daunting.
Closing Thoughts
The Doona Liki Trike is the best foldable tricycle on the market right now, and it’s price tag is worth the investment as it can be used over several years as your child grows.
